More Info

When are the tryouts?

May 16th and 17th, 2015 at Kino North Grandstand Field.  Tryouts begin each day at 9:00AM and finish by 11:00AM.  Please arrive 30 minutes prior to each session to check in with staff.

What age groups are available?

FC Tucson will be offering current U10 Boys and Girls, U12 Boys and Girls, U14 Boys and Girls, and U16 Boys and Girls.  FC Tucson prides itself on following the US Development Academy system with 2 year age groups.  If your son/daughter plays in a odd year (U11, U13, U15) they are welcome to tryout and will have the same opportuntiy, but playing with older players.  They may play in the same Academy group for two years.

When does the FCTYA start and end?

The FCTYA will begin June 1, 2015 and end roughly the 3rd week of July.  The U10’s and U12’s will be training on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at Kino from 5:30-7:00PM.  The U14’s and U16’s will be training Monday-Friday at Kino from 5:30-7:00PM.

How many players will be selected per age group?

FCT staff will be selecting 18-20 players per age group.  Additional players may be added as alternates when team members cannot attend.

What if I have a vacation?

FCT does not hold vacations against a player.  However, like any sports team when trainings are missed, other players will get opportunities to show their ability.

Will games be played?

FCTYA will be playing games throughout the summer.  They will be classified as scrimmages and will be set up at the age group coaches discretion.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to the event?

Please park in the YMCA parking lot.  You can reach it off of E. Ajo Way by heading down Forgeus Road, at the intersection with the pedestrian bridge.

What do I need to bring?

Shinguards, shorts and socks. You will receive an FC Tucson shirt.  Please bring an appropriate sized ball and a water bottle.  FC Tucson will provide plenty of water to refill and some balls for training.

Who will be running the tryout?

The tryout will be run by the FC Tucson coaching staff, overseen by head coach Rick Schantz. The tryout will consist of drills and scrimmages.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
